This time of year provides us with the opportunity to assemble our loved ones and celebrate the festive season together. With the pandemic still causing concern, this is a great time to make use of your outdoor space and create a cosy drinks area around the fire pit. 1. Peppermint Espresso Martini
An espresso martini is a staple on any cocktail menu. December is the perfect time to experiment with flavours to surprise your guests. It’s a simple but effective switch to make, just use the Mint Mocha version of the essential ingredient — Kahlúa.

2. Christmas Old Fashioned
One of the ultimate classics, with a twist. This reinvented Old Fashioned features cranberry syrup for a festive spin, ideal for whiskey lovers.

3. Poinsettia
It wouldn’t be a festive season without bubbles. This version of a prosecco-based cocktail, using cranberry and Cointreau, is refreshing and offers the perfect alternative to a classic Buck’s Fizz or a Bellini.

4. Hot Buttered Rum
Perfect for keeping cosy during outdoor drinks around the fire pit, this ‘hot-tail’ recipe is a delicious mix of butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and of course rum. Best enjoyed piping hot with friends, these will warm you up from the inside out.

5. Orange and Rosemary Fizz
Who says you can’t be merry without alcohol? Ideal for the designated drivers and the non-drinkers, this orange and soda water combination will be a winner with adults and children who want to get in on the action too.
