Oxley’s was selected as the primary outdoor furniture partner for the 2019 opening of Grantley Hall, a 17th-century Palladian mansion turned premier five-star hotel. Over the last six years, we have provided bespoke seating and dining solutions across the estate’s 38 acres of formal gardens and Michelin-starred terraces.

The Brief & Challenge
As a Grade II* listed property, Grantley Hall required outdoor furniture that could bridge the gap between historic English heritage and ultra-modern luxury. The challenge was two-fold: first, to create distinct “zones” that felt cohesive yet unique; and second, to provide furniture capable of withstanding the high-volume use of a world-class hospitality environment and the unpredictable climate of the Yorkshire Dales.

The Solution
Working closely with the Sykes family and their design team, Oxley’s utilized a multi-collection approach to define each space. Our Luxor collection was heavily featured, with bespoke modifications to table shapes and dimensions and varied finishes to suit the specific ambiance of the bars and spa areas. For the more modern dining spaces, we specified the Sienna Collection, offering a sleek, contemporary silhouette. All were combined with their own unique fabrics and accented with Grantley Hall’s bespoke blankets for evening dining.
Our National Trust Octavia Collection was finished in a delicate Mint Blue while the intricate design details of the Luxor design were highlighted in our special classic finish style in Titanium. The contemporary profiles of the Sienna design were finished in a classic white to suit their more modern immediate surroundings.

Protecting the Investment
Crucially, in Spring 2025, Oxley’s demonstrated our commitment to sustainability and “circular” manufacturing. After six years of heavy customer use, we performed a full restoration service. The dining tables were collected, stripped back to their raw aluminium frames, and recoated in our Cotswolds factory, then returned within a week. This unique after-sales support ensures that Grantley Hall’s investment remains in pristine, five-star condition indefinitely.

Furniture Supplied

The Outcome
Grantley Hall remains a flagship example of how marine-grade aluminium furniture serves as a lifetime investment. The ability to refresh and restore the pieces, rather than replace them, aligns perfectly with the estate’s commitment to quality.
