Situated on the east edge of the Yorkshire Dales in North Yorkshire, Grantley Hall is a restored 17th-century Palladian mansion set within 38 acres of formal gardens, including a rare English Heritage listed Japanese garden. Since its opening by the Sykes family in 2019, it has established itself as one of England’s premier five-star hotels. The hotel has forty seven rooms and suites, four restaurants (including the Michelin-starred Shaun Rankin), three bars, and the award-winning Three Graces Spa with hydrotherapy pools, Nordic bath gardens, cryotherapy, and a gym.

Oxley’s were approached the year before the Hotel opened to provide bespoke furniture for all the original outside entertainment areas. Working with the design team Oxley’s created furniture with a very different feel for each entertainment area. Predominately we utilised our Luxor collection in different finishes matched with varied fabrics and we made bespoke items to fit particular spaces. On one terrace of the Hotel we supplied our Sienna Collection, exhibiting a contemporary feel.

Six years on from the hotel’s opening, and with the outdoor dining areas seeing high volumes of use, chips and scrapes on the tough powder coated finish had inevitably occurred. In Spring 2025, when the outdoor dining wasn’t frequently being used, the Oxley’s team collected, restored, and re-delivered the dining tables that had sustained light damage from after years of heavy customer use.

We simply stripped the paint, prepared the metal surface, and recoated the pieces in our Cotswolds factory, and returned them the following week, ready again to provide the luxury service for the summer. No other outdoor furniture manufacturers are able to provide this after-sale support and is a huge part of what makes Oxley’s different as a commercial or residential partner.
