The Oxley’s Octavia Collection, named after Octavia Hill, one of the three founders of the National Trust, will help the charity care for historic houses and landscapes. From sales of this collection a minimum of £15,000 per year will be given to the National Trust to help look after nature, beauty and history. For everyone, for ever.
The Octavia Collection takes its design inspiration from a detail from an 1872 pen and ink drawing of an herbaceous border by the 19th-century garden designer Gertrude Jekyll. The prominent flower pattern is replicated in the back, arm and seat of the chair as well as the tabletop in beautifully intricate detail.
Designed specifically with a typical English garden in mind, and to be impervious to its notoriously variable annual weather, furniture like it would have been found in large gardens for nearly 200 years.
Like all Oxley’s furniture, the Octavia collection is made from recycled aluminium. It is incredibly robust whilst light enough to move around with ease.
The Oxley’s factory, in the North Cotswolds, specialises in finishing our aluminium pieces in a unique way that ensures both the structure our furniture and its paint finish, lasts the long test of time.
The Octavia Collection consists of five sizes of table, two version of the chair, a bench, coffee table, and an indulgently comfortable lounger.
’The National Trust cares for more than 500 historic houses and gardens and over 250,000 hectares of landscape and woodlands. Taking care of these places for future generations is no easy feat. Collaborations such as this one with Oxley’s help make that possible’’
