The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022 is in full swing, and we are enjoying every second of this Spring spectacle. Each year, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show brings to life new and exciting garden trends. From sustainability to cast aluminium garden furniture, here is our run down of the 2022 trends.
Sustainability is an overarching trend at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. Sustainability is a key theme throughout Chelsea, with many spaces looking at ways materials can be used for longer, recycled or repurposed. Last year, a new competition was initiated for sustainable garden product of the year. This was to highlight the increasing awareness that consumers want more environmentally friendly products to choose from for their gardening needs. You may have spotted a friendly face in the list of finalists; Casa by Oxley’s has been selected as a finalist for sustainable garden product of the year 2022. We are absolutely thrilled to be chosen alongside 9 other great sustainable products.
Sanctuary gardens are back for another year. A sanctuary garden is designed to have healing and peaceful qualities and aims to recreate the serenity of nature. A truly relaxing place that acts as an escape from the real world. Garden sanctuaries at Chelsea include show-stopping designs, taking people out of their homes and creating a wonderful space for garden living. Take a look at the sanctuary gardens on show at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
Small Space Gardening
Following on from the success of last year’s balcony and container garden categories, small space gardening returns for 2022. This trend aims to inspire people lacking outdoor space with wonderfully thought-out designs and innovative ideas for small spaces. Proving that, even with limited space, anyone can create their own little garden oasis.
It wouldn’t be an Oxley’s blog if we didn’t talk about this year’s outdoor furniture trends. Continuing with the overriding theme of sustainability this year, traditional garden furniture made from sustainable materials is a big trend. Oxley’s has been making cast aluminium garden furniture from recycled aluminium for over 30 years, sourcing the best materials in the most sustainable way possible. Another very noticeable trend this year is colour, pops of colour are everywhere. From colourful furniture itself to colourful cushions on your traditional garden furniture, introducing vibrant and fun colours to your outdoor furniture is very popular for 2022.
It is a joy to exhibit our cast aluminium garden furniture at the Chelsea Flower Show every year and we love seeing the wonderful creations and designs on show. Each year brings to light new and exciting garden trends, and 2022 is no different. From sustainability being in the forefront of people’s mind to creating a little garden oasis in your small outdoor space, 2022 is sure to be a great year for outdoor living.
